Full name: Hello Games
Established: Sept 2008
Website:

An independent developer with a stated aim of "creating games that will make you cry joyful rainbow tears", Hello Games was founded in 2008 by former Kuju and Criterion tech man Sean Murray; Grant Duncan from Climax and SEGA; Kuju and Bizarre Creations Ryan Doyle, and David Ream again from Kuju. The first game from Hello was 2009's Joe Danger, whose success earned the company "Best new studio" and "Best micro studio" at the 2010 Develop Awards. This ensured a console sequel, Joe Danger 2: The Movie, and two further releases tailored to touch devices, Joe Danger Touch and Joe Danger Infinity.

The company announced its next project at the end of 2013, creating an immediate frenzy amongst gamers and the media. No Man's Sky was revealed as a boundless, wholly "procedural" created universe. Instead of manually crafting the gaming world, everything - from blades of grass to entire planetary systems - is generated within the game and lay undiscovered until a player happens upon it. The game couldn't be any further from Hello's cartoon stunt man origins. Its scale and ambition has made Hello the poster boy of indie development.
