Summary

Since 1987, the Final Fantasy series has been at the forefront of the RPG genre with over 60 million units sold throughout the world. Many elements found in the original game are still evident in all subsequent instalments of the series, including the Crystals (extremely important in the Final Fantasy universe) and the class system for characters.

Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan is the third expansion pack for the successful massively multi player online role-playing game (MMORPG) Final Fantasy XI. Players will uncover mysterious legends and stories about the Aht Urhgan Empire. With new places to explore including Mamook, Al Zahbi and Nashmau, players will have plenty to get their teeth into. New jobs such as Blue Mage and Corsair, have been added, expanding battle strategies even further. There are also several new monsters to do battle with, such as Lamia beastmen, a powerful tribe called Mamool Ja, and the Merrow which can live on land or in the sea. Another new element, especially for veteran fans, is the option to raise and look after your own chocobo.

Two new game modes make a welcome debut on this expansion pack. 'Besieged' allows you to defend your towns from the deadly beastman, while 'Assault' lets players who are past level 50 play missions immediately without having to partake in a long quest or assemble a large party.

Needless to say, Treasures of Aht Urhgan is a must for any fan of the franchise.
