He has a point about devs sitting on the wall, konami are clearly doing this as they haven't commited anything except a PS2 port of PES....and a very bad port at that.
It wouldnt suprise me if nintendo released an updated Wii iwth HDMI, bigger HDD and dvd support in 2008, if they can get DEVS to actually support the thing rather than do ports the Wii will be the household DS.

Why does something you take personal pleasure in have to become 'mainstream', for f**ks sake? the more consoles brought means a higher installed user base, which means lower console unit cost as said console is massed produced.
also with the higher user base there are more opputunities for developers to sell games, meaning while you get a lot of games geared toward the "mainstream" you also get the experimental innovative games that we all crave.
why do you think the ps2 is doing so well whilst the dreamcast is dead as the dodo?

nice theory, not sure if it works that way in practice. I'll stand by my position, which is that becoming 'mainstream' is a sometimes inevitable negative event, not something to be wished for, in the long run.
