Dude, are you, like, saying Wii is bigger than this conversation? Or like, something else, or something?
Canada ftw.
FTW??? For the Win? For the weak? Frightens timorous women? Floats towards Warsaw? Fhat the Wuck?
- Wii is more important than this discussion, which is obvious, I would have thought, given the discussion! Let's talk about the actual subject!
- FTW means For The Win. I didn't know it myself until a while ago, but I found out because I wanted to know - as opposed to trying to use it as ammunition against someone when it's in fact showing that you just don't know what a word means. ;) Ignorance isn't an excuse. Although, in the same way as every other word, it is up to you how you decide to interpret it. It might mean other things too, but as with every other word, you have to put it into context yourself (i.e. "reading").
Now let's not waste any more posts, because I wanted to read about the topic, but ended up reading pages of childish arguing. Accept other peoples' points and either agree or disagree - what more is necessary?
'Though they SHOULD be aware, that disclosing ANY personal information of ANY kind without consent, is indeed ILLEGAL.'
'Wrong again! Only personally identifiable data. '
Yes but when you register it asks 'show personal details?'(or something like that) and I didn't tick the box. I asked moderators on other websites and they said it is not allowed unless for a very good reason which they couldn't think of.
PS: Can someone tell me how to quote properly with the little boxes?
Not wanting to come across all anti-colonial, but I do believe the English public have a slightly greater right to decide how words in the English language are spelled. :-)
Well why don't you come over here, and make us? :)
The first battle will be over the proper spelling of Defense. Or Defence, if you're all strange with your spelling. Then we can move on to "Color vs. Colour" and "Aluminum vs. Aluminium."

If you're replying to a post: Use the "reply" button next to the post you want to reply to and quote. Then click the "quote original" button.
If you just want to quote: You need to use the [ quote][ /quote] (without a space in the tags) BBCode tags. Whatever you put inbetween will appear in a box.
Example: [ quote]Nintendo Gamecube is great.[ /quote]

To be quite honest, the problem is that Americans call it "English", when it's in fact American English. "English English" (the version spoken in England) must then be the proper English, because it's nothing but English.
I wonder how Americans would feel if I said I was speaking American, but actually speaking "British English". Wouldn't it piss them off a bit, because it was "incorrect" compared to how they actually spoke?
It's a worry that people will pour so much energy into worrying about their microscopic differences to others, ignoring the fact that we're all basically the same stupid monkey-parasite running around the surface of a rather interesting planet.
If I was Doshin I'd turn red and smash your stupid faces in.

Okay, so you get Aluminium, but we get Sulfur.
No, most Americans wouldn't feel insulted in the least for you saying you were speaking "American." They would feel glad that you Brits are finally realizing that WE control the language, thank you very much. :)
