They're not "starting work" on Half-Life 3, they've been working on it since Half-Life 2: Episode 2 came out. What's changed is they actually might be starting to talk about it now.

@matthew_verso Really? I'd be more inclined to say they've kicking around ideas, rather than "working on it".
