Summary

Planescape Torment is yet another RPG exclusive to PC. The game takes place in the city of Sigil, otherwise known as “The City of Doors.” The city’s name is of significant importance, as there are gates leading to any location, providing you have the right key. Something strange has happened in Sigil, and now everybody’s a walking zombie. As per usual, you take on the role of the zombie hero, only here a friendly little skull accompanies you. Your task is to find out what happened and put things back to normal, simple as that. To get started you must create your character and give him some statistics. You are given a certain number of points with which you can increase your character attributes. You could make him a strong warrior, but only at the cost of his magic performance, and vice versa.

Planescape Torment is from the producers of Baldur’s Gate, and also incorporates the same game engine. Because of this, there are a few similarities between the two. The visuals have an isometric quality about them, permitting for some stunning hi-resolution pre-rendered backdrops. Characters are beautifully animated when in combat and blend quite well with some of the game’s lovely special effects. So, do you have what it takes to escape from death? Tread wisely.
