Summary

Hold onto your hats race fans, because you’re about to go faster than you’ve ever gone before. In star Wars Episode One Racer for the PC you can reach speeds of over 700 miles per hour! You’re going to need the force to help guide you as the action comes thick and fast.

You can choose from several different pod-racers at the start of the game, try to find one that matches your driving style. Different pods have varying characteristics and you can also use the money that you win from races to upgrade your pod and change its performance and handling.

The feeling of speed and scale in Episode 1 Racer is astounding. You’ll need to concentrate or it’s likely that even a momentary lapse will cause you to get personal with the wall. It’s a nice feeling when you do get it right, tilting your pod sideways to make it through narrow sections or coming first on a tricky circuit. There is a balancing act between top speed and manoeuvrability. If you need to make a tight corner you can pull back on the controller which improves control. On the other hand, by holding up for a few sections, the afterburners become primed. Get ready for laundry day because when you boost… you boost!

The graphics and sound are lovely on the PC, providing you have a good 3D and sound card. Even at maximum speed everything is so smooth and playable.
