Inspired by the runaway success of Worms, Reinforcements was a hastily released, budget update that introduced a few ideas that were missed out of the original PC release in order to make a Christmas release date.
It did however, introduce several new features that were extremely welcome. While the original game was feted fro its multipleyer options, it was largely criticised for the paucity of single player addiction. Reinforcements attempts to address this by introducing a number of one player, mission style, levels. These are relatively successful, and the title is certainly a greater one-player game than the original. But it is still as a multi-player game that this title excels.
Another new feature was the custom levels. Not only could users create their own, but the Team17 artists threw in a selection of their favourites too.
For some people, this is the definitive version of Worms on PC.
