Summary

Way before stone age man was just a glint in a randy monkey’s eye, there was a prehistoric world, full of friendly dinosaurs happily padding around, minding their own business, munching their way through the lush vegetation and forest in their beloved Green Valley. This is The Land Before Time, last seen on the PlayStation with the prefix ‘Return To The Great Valley’, and now available for Game Boy Color.

Anyway, back to that part about friendly, happy dinosaurs…all is not what it appears to be and things aren’t as harmonious as they could be. So what happened?

Trapped in the ‘Mysterious Beyond’, home of the dreaded Sharptooth, is a cute dinosaur by the name of Littlefoot who, with a merry throng of chums, is trying to make it back to the safety of Green Valley. The adventure unfolds as the youngsters tangle with the neighbourhood dinobullies, dodge fierce fires and more. Even though danger is never far away, Littlefoot learns by working together with his pals, and that he has the ability to move mountains.

Set across five huge prehistoric worlds, complete with hidden areas, secrets and level bosses, The Land Before Time features vibrant graphics and fluid animation. The controls are easy to learn, in order to ensure that complex character manoeuvres can be carried out with ease. Featuring all five main characters from the movie, this colourful game will charm children and adults alike with its hopeful, upbeat theme of sharing and caring. Perfect for those parents who like to wrap their kids in metaphorical cotton wool and pretend that the world’s a better place than it really is. Altogether now…aaaahhh!
