Summary

Pokemon Snap for the Nintendo 64 is a fun and, most importantly, original game. Professor Oak needs your help. He is compiling a photo album of all the Pokemon that live on the island and wants to catch them on film in their natural environment. Professor Oak has created the Zero-One transport vehicle to take you on a guided tour. So get your camera ready, you’re going to need it.

The object of Pokemon Snap is to take pictures of as many Pokemon as possible. After each level you select the photos that you want to show to Professor Oak. He then grades each photo on the distance of the Pokemon, what the Pokemon is doing and finally, the composition of the shot. You receive bonus points if there is more than one of the same type in the shot.

What makes Pokemon snap addictive is that there is usually an optimum chance to get the best shot. You need to go through each level more than once to make sure you get the best angle. Sometimes you’ll be looking in completely the wrong direction and miss it. You can use items like apples to encourage the Pokemon to come closer or knock Pokemon into the lava to force them to evolve.

With plenty of secrets to find, there is a lot to this game to keep you entertained. When you have a decent collection of snaps in your album, it’s possible to view them in the gallery. If you like Pokemon or fancy a different kind of game, then have a look at this title. Smile.
