Initially it is hard to get to grips with the gameplay mechanics but if you persevere you will find a fun game hidden underneath. The idea of the game is to prove yourself as the king of the waves by amassing points in the championship mode. Learning when to catch the wave is imperative to a successful run. There are only four buttons to learn: slash, hard slash, catch air and grab your rail. Slashing is used for quick turns and can be used in combination with the other tricks. Pulling off a mid-air 360 and landing perfectly for the next trick is a rewarding experience.
