Summary

Take 2 Games, a company responsible for the release of many successful titles from many different developers, has teamed up with a little known company that goes by the name of Continuum to develop Outlive.

In the 21st century, resources are running low, so Earth forges a new plan to scan the entire solar system for valuable resources. Upon discovering Titan, they find that it is an entirely uninhabitable planet. With their hearts set on colonisation, they send in machines and genetically altered humans to cope with the hostile environments that await. However, soon after landing on the planet, a war breaks out between man and robot in an ultimate battle of “every man for himself”.

First and foremost, this point-and-click real-time strategy game is aimed purely at hardcore fans of the genre. To compensate, or to entice a larger audience, Continuum has included a training option that comes highly recommended, even to the most experienced player. After taking control of either race, you must tackle as many as forty single player levels to rid the opposition permanently. Sound simple? It isn’t. With each map shrouded in darkness, you must embark upon an exploratory mission, but soon after you leave the base the opposition will make an appearance. You should always be prepared for pre-emptive strikes if you are to succeed to the next level. To broaden the audience even further, you are able to participate in multi-player games over the Internet. Here, you can edit maps or even create new ones. The options are endless, and it is ultimately this feature that makes it a great game.
