Summary

Mega Man, the legendary Capcom platform hero, is making his way onto Game Boy Advance, courtesy of Ubi Soft. But the blue man of steel is taking a turn in the direction of a traditional role-playing game in the highly anticipated Mega Man Battle Network.

The technology-oriented game of Battle Network takes place far in the future, where ‘net-battlers’ hack into a massive network to battle net crime. Assuming the role of Mega Man EXE, your task is to infiltrate the virus-ridden network, fight victorious battles and collect Battle Chips to help restore law and order to the digital age.

Now, here’s where the role-playing elements come in. The world of Mega Man Battle Network is divided into two different playing environments. The field environment allows the player to interact with various NPCs (non-playable characters) to uncover developments in the game’s plots and acquire leads as to your next course of action.

But as you progress you will uncover the second playing environment. Yes, you will be frequently subjected to those dreaded random battles that are commonly found within classic role-playing games. Here, you will battle a great number of enemies, each with a set of unique attacks. But fear not. As Mega Man you are extremely powerful and able to execute a whole variety of special combat manoeuvres that will help you to overcome the opposition.

So there you have it. A Pokemon-style game with an original story, great gameplay and extensive longevity.
