Summary

The Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX series - Tony Hawk Pro Skater on a bike to you - has quickly established itself as the video game of choice for ardent two-wheeler fans. Eager to maintain its lofty status, Acclaim busts out a sequel, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 for Game Boy Advance.

The game inevitably features the ten times World Champion BMX-er Dave Mirra himself, joined by several other vets, including the 2000 X-Games Champion, Ryan Nyquist. But if you’re not content with the regular crew of BMX champs, you can always create a rider of your own, and even choose your own sponsors.

Pre-game settings aside, Dave Mirra 2 boasts eight brand new interactive freestyle environments that are around four times the size of those seen in the original. Players must now be aware of travelling objects, as some of the locations feature road networks with moving vehicles and other hazards.

The most impressive part of this freestyle game is the available trick list. Incredibly, and with only a few d-pad movements and button presses, players can execute an astounding 1,500+ tricks. This aspect gives Dave Mirra 2 the freedom and variety it needs to keep players engrossed in its gameplay for weeks, if not months.

A plethora of multi-player modes and infinitely playable game design means it’ll take something special to take the 'Blazing Saddle' crown away from Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2.
