Persian Wars is not merely a real time strategy game. The player is the hero who must make fundamental decisions throughout the main battle campaign. He is a cunning opportunist who won't hesitate to change sides, and therefore the course of history, if it will bring him fame and fortune.
There are two types of cards in the game, one strategy card for managing the movements of the hero and his armies and the different places he will go to. This is also how he will decide on his position as the big battle begins, how he will choose which cause he wants to defend, who he will sell himself to and who he will betray.
A second tactical card helps settle the various fights and pitched battles between our hero's armies and the 3 tribes and also helps him fight against the many "independents" who are waiting in the shadows for the ideal moment to strike and change the face of the world.
As well as the big campaign which is totally non linear and interactive, four smaller campaigns provide the opportunity to explore the mythical places of 1001 Nights, and there is a network mode for eight players to complete the game.
Nearly 90 different units, a storyline of legendary richness, magical powers, units whose experience and efficiency grows with every battle, a campaign with a hundred cards, magic artefacts, the big heroes of 1001 Nights...here are just some of the elements that you will discover when you play Persian Wars.
