Both games offer an incredibly realistic pigskin experience, so what does NFL Quarterback offer that makes it the more worthwhile purchase?
The Quarterback challenge mode is back once again to help you hone your skills. This mode features four head-to-head events; speed and mobility, accuracy, long-distance throw, and read and recognition. As any professional quarterback will tell you, mastery of these skills is necessary to become a champion. You can practice these skills until you can place the football exactly where it needs to be for the touchdown.
In case you are new to the game of American Football, the rules are fairly straightforward. The idea is to take the ball into the opponents endzone to score a touchdown which is worth six points. Your team has to move the ball forward at least ten yards in four attempts. If you can't manage to do that, a mandatory turnover occurs.
All the USA's professional teams are represented in NFL Quarterback Club 2002, and that means statistics for over 1,500 players. To add realism, all 350 starting players have been digitised so that the virtual players look exactly like their real-life counterparts. Player models even blink and have unique facial expressions. The graphics in this game are extremely impressive, especially considering the amount of polygons 22 players require.
NFL Quarterback Club 2002 has opted for a television style presentation with play-by-play commentary from Kevin Harlan and Bill Mass. There are five modes of play including Season, Exhibition, Quarterback Challenge, Playoffs, and Pro Bowl.
