The original Sky Sports Football Quiz, released just before Xmas 2001, contained approximately 4,500 questions on all areas of the beautiful game, and the formula has been repeated here, just a matter of months later. Things move pretty quickly in the football world, that’s for sure, and the second instalment of Sky Sports Football Quiz game reflects this.
A solo session with Kirsty making the enquiries can be a lot of fun, but Sky Sports Football Quiz really kicks off when your friends join in. Just make sure that the people you invite for a footy-based Q&A are not of a volatile nature. Sky Sports Football Quiz 2 will provoke as many arguments as it will settle debates, and it’ll more than likely make one or more participants look stupid from time to time. As with developer Hothouse’s other famous quiz creation, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? it’s all very well watching someone else squirm as they’re asked who scored the first ever league goal at Huddersfield Town’s McAlpine Stadium (Wycombe Wanderers’ Simon Garner, fact fans). But when it comes to your turn, the sheer number of questions contained in this game will ensure that only the most anally retentive among you will recall the most obscure facts. It’s hilarious and frustrating for all the wrong reasons, but in multi-player mode, Sky Sports Football Quiz 2 scores every time.
