Summary

It seems that a new genre in gaming is upon us. Adult Extreme Sports, possibly. Or maybe Rude BMX. Or something like that. This is for over 18's anyway.

BMX XXX is a Tony Hawk-style BMX game but with a difference. As well as offering the usual array of trick-based challenges and combos, the game is also packed full of adult humour, risqué content and crazy goings-on. Taking full advantage of its high age rating, BMX XXX features a host of vulgarity, nudity and colourful language as well as an assortment of bizarre challenges like 'Get the Bitch from the Pimp' for example.

Underneath the adult-orientated pretensions, XXX is also a very competent BMX game. Building on the Dave Mirra Freestyle series, from which it originates, the action features thousands of trick combinations, with big air tricks, modifiers and grinds, as well as a new flatland feature, which allows for a load of new ground-based stunts.

Eight massive levels play host to the action, featuring all of the freestyle BMX disciplines, such as park, street, vert and dirt. Players get to compete against other hardcore riders at UGP's Roots Jam 2002 or at the fabled Rampage Skate Park.

As well as the now-obligatory park designer, there's also the addition of Create-a-Rider option. This allows players to make themselves a rider in their own image or, staying faithful to the nature of the title, build their very own collection of BMX babes.

This is a controversial title to say the least but, while the emphasis is definitely on the risque content, this is not the game's only selling point as, underneath all the pimps, bitches and mating dogs, there's a fine BMX game.
