Summary

The miniature dinosaur duo last visited Nintendo's famed handheld in late 2000 with the re-release of the Taito classic Bubble Bobble. Two years on and a 32-bit Game Boy Advance later, they're returning for another bout in Bubble Bobble: Old and New.

One of the most addictive games in history, Bubble Bobble gameplay remains intact for this retro extravaganza, complete with an obligatory graphical overhaul to meet standards of today's eager and somewhat fussy young games players.

As you would rightfully expect, Bubble Bobble is as simple as it ever was, whereby players must once again assume control of a tiny dinosaur and defeat enemies in platform-based levels by capturing them in your bubbles and bursting them with your vicious but cute horns. It may sound simple, and it is, but it can get extremely frustrating at times, and you will find yourself in fits of video game rage once in a while. There are over 100 stages in all - that's a lot.

This classic incarnation of the original is strictly a retro game, aimed at retro gamers, but anyone not familiar with the series will still have a lot of fun with this one.
