Summary

With the latest Roger Rabbit-style cartoon-meets-live action movie from Warner Bros. due to hit cinema screens soon, it was only to be expected that a video game tie-in would be on the cards. Looney Tunes: Back in Action is just that title, bringing the well-loved rivals Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck together for an all-new adventure, in a bright, colourful and amusing platform game that is apparently designed for kids of all ages.

As the story goes, the two pen-and-ink protagonists must put their past differences behind them and pursue a common goal: to find the mysterious Blue Monkey Diamond. In order to do this the pair must embark on a world-encompassing scavenger hunt, racing from level to level whilst collecting those good old ACME gizmos and clues along the way. The game offers players the now-commonplace concept of being able to swap between the two playable characters, as each is in possession of his own set of special skills, both of which are required to complete certain sections of the game.

There’s a total of six diverse environments to be explored throughout, each one in some way or another inspired by the locations of the respective film. As such, along the way you’ll find yourself partaking in such quests as uncovering the mysteries of Area 52, visiting a hi-tech secret science facility hidden deep in the desert, and descending into the depths of the African jungle.

As you would expect, throughout the escapade you come face-to-face with an all-star cast of Warner Bros. favourites. In most cases the respective characters pose certain problems and need to be outwitted using either Bugs or Daffy’s particular abilities or, even more fun, one of those wonderful ACME gizmos.
