Summary

Chris Sawyer's Rollercoaster Tycoon series and its accompanying expansion packs have been among the most popular management sims in the industry, and following the 2002 release of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, yet another add-on has been release, called Wacky Worlds. And the title speaks for itself.

Rollercoaster design is an aspect of physics that nearly everyone enjoys. Testing a coaster in anticipation to see if the train has enough momentum to reach the peak of the next hill is very much a case of trial and error for those without good knowledge of how potential and kinetic energies work together. Regardless of whether you're a newbie or an accomplished physicist, the Rollercoaster Tycoon games are great fun and the Wacky Worlds expansion stands to reinforce such games as market leaders.

In the Wacky Worlds expansion, players can expect to see some 250 new gameplay elements that comprise of 50 new ride types, more scenarios and a whole bunch of new theming materials, all of which integrate themselves nicely in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, making it more extensive than ever before. Buildings and other theming elements have been taken from all continents, allowing players to construct their own Eiffel Tower and Great Wall of China in their very own theme park. In fact, there are so many theming elements that players can theme a whole park around a specific location if they so wish.

But players need to remember that RCT2 is still a management game and you're gonna need funds to cover the costs of adding new elements to your park. A good, sustainable cashflow can only be achieved through keeping existing customers happy and enticing new ones through advertising. This is a management game after all, and keeping the punters content isn't as easy as it might sound. Accommodating their every need, you must provide food and drink outlets, toilets, souvenir shops, umbrella stalls for those rainy days, litter bins, and even benches for those that can't handle the park's twists and turns.

Wacky Worlds offers a very respectable amount of new features to play with, but there are too many to mention here. You'll just have to find out for yourselves. You need to own a copy of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 to make use of Wacky Worlds, but it's definitely worth it.
