Summary

Get ready for the world's most famous sponge (not the most admirable of titles, but fairly impressive nonetheless) because the absorbent, angular-trousered one is back for another bizarre yet fun-filled adventure. As with most SpongeBob adventures, something is afoot in Bikini Bottom - this time it's the evil Plankton, who is hatching a plot to take over the world.

You see, what he's done is get his hands on an invention called the Duplicatotron 3000, which is one of those things you use to create an army of robots. Most people with half a brain, however, would remember to press the button that made the robots obey their creator. Not Plankton though - and so now the robots are running amok all over Bikini Bottom, leaving the fate of the underwater world in the less then capable hands of SpongeBob and two of his friends.

A typical 3D platformer, the game sees players take on the role of SpongeBob, Patrick Star or Sandy Cheeks and explore a host of subterranean environments, in an attempt to put an end to the evil scheme. Each character has a range of unique moves and abilities, which present various different advantages when dealing with the game's array of nasties. SpongeBob, for example, can use his Bubble Wand to pull off attacks such as the Bubble Bounce and Bubble Bash. Patrick Star is the big tough guy of the trio and, as such, is able to pick up and throw most things, as well as perform belly flops and bumps. Lastly, Sandy karate chops things and, erm, lasoos things as well.

SpongeBob fans are more than likely to enjoy this latest adventure, as you get the chance to explore loads of Bikini Bottom's environments and meet plenty of familiar faces along the way. And who wouldn't want to do that, eh?
