Summary
In 1960’s New York, an evil incarnate in the form of Lord Dominion lurks beyond another dimension. With the intention of absolute supremacy over the entire planet, and with an evil plan to have the earth destroy itself, this guy must be stopped. That's where you come in.
Freedom Force is a tactical battle RPG set in the silver age of the comic book. Players lead a team of 14 original heroes through a series of tactical missions, first selecting an appropriate squad, then proceeding to the scene of the mission and commencing tactical combat. Battles happen on an extremely large scale, with thundering fights demolishing whole city blocks and major tourist attractions. New York is extensively detailed in the game, complete with an interactive Central Park, Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty.
When not saving the city, players enter a management mode, where he/she can train characters and recruit new members by spending and distributing character points earned from successful missions. A full RPG skill system rewards strategic heroes by allowing players to juggle stats and pump up powers based on experience accumulated in tactical missions. All characters have powers, which can evolve and be honed during the game.
With support for online and LAN based multiplayer games, Freedom Force is a well-rounded game, offering an original concept with its blend of comic book, beat-em-up action and RPG tactics.
