Summary

150 miles per hour at 15,000 rpm. Get the bike straight and brake hard, hanging on, and then throw yourself into the corner. Change to second, knee down, and feed the power in, not too hard, but not too gently either, because every second counts. Blip the throttle one last bit and the back wheel steps out a gut-churning couple of inches before sticking back down. You’re on the limit. As you round the hairpin exultantly, give it all the bike has, kicking viciously up through the gears, the front wheel lifting off the ground a little each time you do so.

The Isle of Man TT event is the stuff of biking legend. Huge powerful machines from around the world thrash around the real roads of a British island backwater. It’s perfect for a video game. So perfect, in fact, that it’s already been made several times. Now Jester Interactive are doing us the honour of updating the event and bringing it to PS2.

All 37.73 miles of the famous course are recreated in the smallest detail. Up to ten bikes at a time can race along the course, and it’s claimed that the frame rate never drops below a very impressive 60 per second. The game also features a tutorial mode and a two-player split screen mode to challenge your friends on. And that’s all there is to it: one world famous event, lovingly recreated in as much detail as today’s technology can support. A must for every superbike games fan.
