Summary

Rogue Trooper's story takes place on a planet called Nu Earth, a hostile place where the Norts and Southers are at constant loggerheads in a futile conflict: kind of like choosing between a Papa Roach or Linkin Park CD. Oh, the futility! It'll all end in tears, you'll see. Well, that may be the case, unless you take this fractured future-world by the scruff of its genetically-engineered neck by assuming the role of the game's titular figure and start to have a riot of your own.

Rogue Trooper is a Genetic Infantryman (GI) and the sole survivor of the brutal slaying of his regiment at the Quartz Zone Massacre. Rogue goes AWOL, on a mission to track down the traitorous general responsible for sending his brethren to its grisly demise. Luckily for him, Rogue's arsenal offers him a distinct advantage over his enemies in the guise of encoded bio-chips containing the digitised personalities of his fallen brothers in arms implanted in his gun (Gunnar), helmet (Helm) and backpack (Bagman). Each one's full military experience is at Rogue's disposal and therefore at the player's fingertips.

A thrilling mix of third-person shoot-em-up and stealth-based combat with multiple game paths, expansive battlegrounds and a selection of tactics and routes to take throughout the game, Rogue Trooper does the 2000AD veteran character proud alright. Definitely not the kind of GI you'd take home to mum.
