Pacific Storm for the PC is a game about the war in the Pacific between the U.S. and Japan, covering the period 1940-1948. Gamers can side with the United States or Imperial Japan, and find themselves experiencing a dramatic sequence of large-scale naval and air military operations. In Pacific Storm, there are elements of a tactical game, global strategy and arcade air simulator.
As you progress through Pacific Storm, it is possible to develop new technologies, build and deploy new weapon systems or even change history. Thanks to the combination of tactics, strategy and simulator, gamers are able to make whatever tactical or strategic decisions they consider best or abandon certain decisions and join their units to take part in the war personally. In addition to the strategic mode with its 127 different Pacific zones and 40 naval bases, you can play 20 historical battles, including the Battle of Midway, the shooting down of Japanese admiral Yamamoto's plane and the battle for Guadalcanal.
There are many different roles gamers can assume in Pacific Storm: you can become Commander-in-Chief, responsible for thousands of servicemen and the destiny of your selected country, commanding officer of a select squadron, or even a pilot, fighting in the sky over the Pacific.
