Summary
Tycoon Deluxe for the PC is a compilation featuring the games Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked and Tycoon City: New York. All three games are held in high regard by strategy/management enthusiasts.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 (RCT 3) was released for the PC in 2004 and was the first game in the series to feature 3D graphics. The premise behind RCT 3 remains the same as its predecessors. Players must, as park manager, spend a sizeable amount of money which they have been given at the start of the game and turn a piece of land into a profitable theme park. Gamers start by purchasing and installing small fairground rides to maintain a working profit that will hopefully bring in enough cash to expand further. For your park to succeed you will have to employ engineers to keep your attractions safe, cleaners and gardeners to maintain the park and even entertainers to prevent boredom. When you have enough money, you can design and build any number of wooden, steel, vertical, inverted, launched, flying and 4D rollercoasters. It is even possible to see what all the fuss is about and try out your own rollercoasters via a front-seat view.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked is an expansion pack of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. In Soaked, things get even more exciting, as gamers get the opportunity to build and experience a multitude of water rides in various guises, including multi-layered pools, water slides and dolphin displays. Get ready to don your branded poncho and ride the log flume!
Tycoon City: New York (TC NY) features stunning 3D graphics and gives players the opportunity to play out a real rags-to-riches story in the Big Apple. You must start from the bottom in the district of Greenwich Village and build up your empire until you are the most powerful entrepreneur in all of New York City. To reach Tycoon status you must build and run successfully a variety of businesses and events. These range from fashion stores to restaurants through to nightclubs and record labels. Eventually, if enough cash comes in, you will find yourself organising huge rock concerts in Central Park and New Year's Eve Celebrations in Times Square. As you progress, you will be rewarded with iconic monuments of New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and even the chance to build Freedom Tower on the site of the World Trade Centre.
