Summary
The Star Trek franchise returns with [i]Encounters[/i], an arcade style shoot-em-up. In this space combat game, you'll get to take control of five generations of Trek as you shoot your way through space.
You've always wanted to be in charge of one of those whopping great starships. Admit it. In Encounters, you get to go one better. Well, five better really, but who's counting. With The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise to work your way through, you'll be playing right through the recorded history of Star Trek.
You'll take on missions from crucial episodes in each series' history as you guide your ship towards victory. You'll have all the classic weapons at your disposal, including phasers, pulse cannons and torpedoes.
Alternatively, you can select Skirmish Mode in which you'll find yourself in random all-out combat with no mission attached. You'll start with a selection of Federation ships, but ultimately you'll be able to enter the fray with any one of 30 ships from Klingon, Romulan, Borg, Xindi, Ferengi, Kazon, Orion, Cardassian or Vulcan races.
Or, if you really need to blast your friends halfway across the galaxy, you can select Multi-player Mode and battle head to head. Any way you want to play, [i]Encounters[/i] offers plenty for any Trek fan to sink their teeth into.
