Summary

From the mind of former Capcom developer Yoshiki Okamoto, who's worked on titles such as Devil May Cry, Onimusha and Resident Evil, comes Folklore. Spinning out of western... well, folklore, the game mixes Irish, Ancient Greek and Roman mythologies to take PlayStation 3 owners on a bizarre tour of the English countryside.

The game follows Keats, a chap who finds himself in the unfortunate position of being a realist who works on a third rate occult magazine. One day, he receives a strange phonecall from a woman asking for help. He wouldn't be much of a journalist if that didn't grab his attention, so off he trots to the village of Doolin, where he finds the woman already murdered.

There, he runs across a young woman named Ellen, who spends her days wandering the English countryside in search of folk tales. She finds herself in Doolin looking for the mother she long thought dead.

A mix of adventure, turn-based action and RPG, Folklore draws players through seven unique realms, ranging from the Undersea City to the never-ending maze of the Endless Corridor.

If you feel like a spot of dark fantasy to see you through the long, dark winter nights, this might tickle your nickel.
