Summary

Midway's Cruis'n series and Nintendo are old friends. The series kicked off in the mid-'90s with Cruis'n USA in the arcades, making its way onto the Nintendo 64 a couple of years afterwards. Since then we've seen various arcade ports of the series to Nintendo platforms, taking us to the simply-named Cruis'n.

Midway's racer forsakes the fender-crunching reality of series like Forza in favour of a more fun, arcadey feel.

In this latest entry into the series players get 12 tracks to go at, along with 12 import tuner cars. There's the straightforward arcade mode set alongside circuit mode, in which you'll take to the streets like Vin Diesel after too many lattes to compete for cash and unlock new vehicles. If you fancy taking on your mates there's a split screen mode for you to get rough and ready with.

This is the Wii, so controlling your car is handled by tilt action and the remote. You'll even find insanely long air time when the right tilt and a double tap of the gas button can position you to launch off slower cars to spectacular effect.
