In the future, everything's going to be run by huge great multinational corporations - if not just ONE huge great multinational corporation. It's a well known and well documented fact. It's also widely expected that these huge great multinational corporations are likely to make folk compete in brutal blood sports for the amusement of the rich and privileged. According to Iridium Runners, we can expect that to kick off by 2050.
Yup, mega corporations are going to be sponsoring foot races. What, that doesn't sound too sinister? What about if we told you that the races will include weapons and power ups to open up a wealth of sometimes nasty options for beating your opponents? Sound more like it? Good...
You'll find several multiplayer modes lurking in Iridium Runners. One, as you'd expect, is traditional, free-for-all racing. Team mode, however, offers players the opportunity to get a bit more tactical - needing to balance speed with aggression to be the first over the line.
