WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2009 on Nintendo's DS seems like a fresh experience. As well as the classic Rage meter; the immersion into the TV franchise using the talents of the actual writers from network broadcast; as well as the voice talent from a wide selection of Superstars taken from the WWE, Smackdown and ECW stables gamers will find additional content and ways to play. The 2009 DS version has a brand new control method plus additional match-ups including, at last, the Steel Cage. The roster of Superstars has also been expanded to offer even more choice in your fighting madness.
The new stuff doesn't get away from the core wrestley goodness of the series, however. In fact, it adds to it: check out the inclusion of the Create-a-Superstar mode where gamers get to mould fighters to the peak of fighting greatness.
This is joined by an expanded Season mode that introduces more of a role-playing approach to the journey to Wrestlemania that's right - as well as preparing their fighters, gamers will also have to complete quests. All this with a new and improved control method making good use of both D-Pad and stylus.
And yes, the fighters optimised and customised in Create-a-Superstar can also be used in that all-new Season mode for a rounded RAW experience.
