Summary

By the time Nintendo rolled out the Wii and the DS, Electronic Arts was already hankering to get more youngsters involved with The Sims. The younger, more casual audiences of Nintendo's platforms were ideal for enabling EA to crack that much-desired audience – and so we got MySims. Taking it one step further, EA has gone all medieval on the franchise, bringing us MySims Kingdom.

The DS version of the game doesn't drop you quite as smack-bang in the middle of the kingdom as its Wii cousin does. You'll be charged with helping out on your own corner of an island. If that sounds a bit restrictive compared to the whole realm offered up the Wii version – fear not! There's plenty to do. A mysterious figure in black has swooped down in the night and swept up most of your town. Poor old King Roland's in a bit of a state about the whole thing, so you'll need to help out by luring people back to the town.

There are a couple of ways to do this. One is collecting essences using your extractor to get the essences of outdoor objects then running them through the Synth-O-Matic to create new stuff for them to use. Being a Sims title, the game offers you plenty of customisation options as you do this.

Another way to help out is by taking part in numerous mini-games, be it a quick tennis match, helping the zoo-keeper re-populate his enclosures or aiding Ellen with distributing vegetables.

The town needs you!
