Summary

Rock Band, the Harmonix franchise that put the wind right up Activision's Guitar Hero series, is back. It's bigger. It's better. It's aimed at chomping off another big chunk of the music game market.

So, what does it have to offer? A whopping 84 new songs, for starters. You'll find everything from classics such as AC/DC's Let There Be Rock right through to Panic at the Disco's Nine in the Afternoon then round to Megadeth's Peace Sells. You'll even find the first new Guns n' Roses single in ten years - Shackler's Revenge!

For those wanting a casual experience, Harmonix has opened up the opportunity to just jump in and play. If you have guests, they'll no longer have to go through the cumbersome process of creating a character - they'll be able to just jump in with a pre-made one. Similarly, it's dead easy for players to pop in and out, so you won't be standing around waiting for other players to get back from doing debauched rawk things in the toilet. Add in a 'No Fail' option to stop you having to repeat tracks and partygoers are onto a winner.

Rock Band 2 also comes with ramped-up online functionality. There's a Battle of the Bands mode that pits players against a series of constantly-updated challenges, competing against other players online.

Owners of the first Rock Band will also be able to import songs from the original Rock Band and any downloadable content they've bought, meaning there'll be no messing about trying to re-download it or shelling out your hard-earned cash for a second time.

Anyway, without further ado, let's get onto the songs that put the 'Rock' in Rock Band 2.
