Summary

Living is great and all, but what's the point when you're not living in a mansion? With a huge garden, and loads of flower beds? Despite our best efforts at get-rich-quick schemes, there's no way we could afford the high life. Lucky then, that we get the opportunity to indulge in some escapism and have our Sims live in mansions instead! The Sims 2: Mansion and Garden Stuff is the latest expansion pack that lets your virtual people pimp their cribs as if it was Buckingham Palace.

Building a straightforward mansion is just plain boring though, so this expansion gives you plenty of choices in the matter. You can give your mansion a distinctly Moroccan design, with lush Mediterranean gardens; go for the retro-modern look with the stately Art Deco themes and give off the feel of classic Hollywood; or even go grand and give your home a bit of a Second Empire style.

Each theme has a huge array of different architectural and landscaping items to use, including exotic columns that can be used to build archways, ceiling fans or huge staircases that really show off your wealth to the neighbourhood.

All new windows, doors, roofs and fences are available to fully renovate your house too, and your garden can be spruced up just as much – all manner of flower beds, shrubberies, fountains, and grand sculptures are on offer for you to totally go on a landscaping craze. There's enough stuff in here for any Sims fan to truly create some grand designs.
