Summary

The addictive puzzle game Jewel Master returns on the Nintendo DS, with a bit of a simulation twist thrown in there for good measure. In Cradle of Rome, your task is to recreate the famous Roman city using your gathering of resources and gold.

Collecting resources is as easy as completing the main puzzle stages in the game – Jewel Master works on a simple principle of connecting three identical symbols in a row by re-arranging tiles on a board. Each symbol represents a type of resource you can add to your bank. Logs, for example, give you the ability to create new buildings while coins earn you the gold you need to set up said establishments.

Even though you can try to earn as many resource points as you need, the ideal goal of each puzzle stage is to make chains on blue tiles. Once you do this, the time limit will be added to your bonus, offering you more goods to play with.

Once you've created enough buildings you move on to the next era in Roman history, and there are over 20 buildings to get to grips with over five different eras, with 100 levels to wrap your head around. So, if you're of a puzzle persuasion there's certainly enough meat in Jewel Master: Cradle of Rome to satisfy your craving while you're on the move.
