Summary

Clank got his big solo start in the world of games over on the PSP with Secret Agent Clank. Well... when we say 'big', we really meant 'little', with the PSP being a handheld and all. It was still his big break, in any case. With the PS2 release, it's gotten bigger! Any robot that can double up as a jet pack is surely deserving of his own game.

'So', you might wonder, 'what's the little guy doing flying solo?' Good question. First, let us put your fears to rest. Ratchet and Clank haven't fallen out. If you need reassurance, think about the fact that this game is set between the events of Size Matters and Tools of Destruction – in which the lombax and the robot are the best of buds. Ratchet has been framed, and it's up to Clank to don his tux and take on the role of his alter-ego, Secret Agent Clank, to save the day.

While you'd be hard pressed to say this isn't a platformer, it doesn't fall into the familiar gameplay style that marks most Ratchet and Clank games. If you run head-first into a fight and think you can win the day by swinging your fists and shooting like crazy, you're wrong. Stealth is the name of the game. Fortunately, you'll be armed with secret agent-type weapons that would make 007 cower in fear. Bow tie boomerangs, cuff link bombs and jet boots will all help you along your way. If you're an old school Ratchet fan fear not. There is a spot of more traditional Ratchet and Clank action to be had as you get involved in prison yard scraps in Ratchet levels dotted throughout the game.

Clank's one secret agent who likes his bolts... screwed in firmly?
