Summary

Gobliiins 4 marks the triumphant return of Pierre Gilhodes - one of the creators of the original Gobliiins game - to the series he pioneered. The fourth entry to the series sees it moved into the realm of three dimensions, but expect to see the core gameplay elements of previous titles present and accounted for.

Gobliiins 4 is, essentially, a mixture of adventure and puzzle gameplay, with players having to solve each level as they hit them. The twist is that players have three different goblins at their disposal and will have to combine their skills to beat a quest.

First up, we've got Tchoup. Tchoup used to be a young whippersnapper who enjoyed nothing more than exploring the world around him and putting together unusual combinations of objects (three-legged stools and streetlights, anyone?) to creative ends. That all changed when he found himself down the nick and got interrogated by a chap with a magnifying glass. Instantly enamoured, he became a detective. A skilled investigator, Tchoup is also the only one of your goblin crew able to store objects in his pocket.

Then we've got Perlius, a goblin who always wanted to be part of the Royal Guard but, thanks to his strange name and stranger mug, found himself having to join the Royal Antiques Society instead. Having been rather successful in his field, Perlius is a magic user adept at making plants grow and bewitching objects. Unfortunately, that doesn't always go to plan...

Stucco is the strongman of the group. He's had previous employment with the circus, a brothel and the Royal Navy, but his habit of eating plenty and doing very little has always gotten him fired. He's not the sharpest tool in the box, but being able to hit folk in the face often makes up for that. As the only goblin capable of heavy lifting and climbing plants and ropes, he's handy to have around.

It's in combining the unique skills of these three goblins that you see the magic occurring...
