Summary

With so many dancing games out there on the market, it can be hard to differentiate one from another. Ballerina avoids that problem by focusing entirely on the art of classical dance. It's every young girl's dream to get into a pink frilly outfit and dance around a studio hall, and this title will let them realise that very fantasy.

But it's more than a simulation. Ballerina tells players the story of a 12-year-old girl who aims to be the greatest prima ballerina that ever lived. She's just been admitted to a prestigious dancing academy, and through putting on her pumps you must fulfil her dream.

Rather than words, the story of this game is expressed through dance and music, which is quite an original spin on computer game storytelling. Throughout your adventure, you must do well to succeed whilst also taking into account your fellow students. Although some are good friends, they will do whatever it takes to beat everyone else. You have to prove yourself, and keep improving if you want to stay ahead of the others.

Once you get enough training in the academy – thanks to a cute trainer called Nathan – it's time to perform for an audience at the opera house. Wow the crowd with moves performed with the Wii Remote and Wii Balance Board, and earn your rightful place as the great prima ballerina.
