Summary

MX bikes and ATVs have always been at war on the racetrack. There have no doubt been countless anecdotes of the benefits and drawbacks between each one, and stories of epic battles between the two arch-vehicle-rivals. THQ's MX Vs ATV series has explored this racing category with finesse in the past, and now you can take the racing to your handheld for some instant exhiliration.

The game is named after the Rider Reflex system, which offers the ability to perform tricks with ease and ride the tracks like a professional racer. The Rhythm Racing 2.0 engine has improved physics so that you can take advantage of the added sense of control while tackling ever-demanding elements.

There's more opportunity to perform tricks as well, with 30 different freestyle stunts that you can pull off to rack up your score and help get ahead of the pack. Just make sure that you leave enough time to finish your move – if you land awkwardly, the Wreck Avoidance System will give you a chance to reposition yourself. Taking advantage of that split second gameplay mechanic will ensure you don't mess up and crash your vehicle.

It's not just the AI you can put yourself up against either – with four-player wi-fi connectivity, you can play with up to three other friends and see just how good their MX bikes are against your ATV selection. On the Nintendo DS, you get to play with Monster Trucks as an exclusive vehicle class, so you can smash your way through your opponents if the mood takes you!
