Summary

Final Fantasy XIV is a continuation of the MMO direction that Square Enix's classic role-playing series first took in 2004's Final Fantasy XI. In this new adventure, the land of Hydaelyn in under threat. All wandering travellers converge in Eorzea, a realm that allows all races and creeds to co-habit within its many states. But it is a land full of war and strife, and rogue adventurers the world over still travel to the continent, intent on discovering new opportunities.

With Eorzea as huge as it is, players will be able to use crystalline formations known as aetheryte to teleport throughout the land. Guildleves can be accessed to open new direct locations to transport themselves to, and with the amount of quests and opportunity for player choice on offer, you'll need this feature to quickly get from place to place.

Create any kind of character you want, and assign them on a path of destiny. Be it the Discipline of War, Discipline of Magic, Discipline of the Land or Discipline of the Hand, you'll be able to access many different kinds of classes, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. Explore the land and access the Armoury – a class system that allows you to influence your style of play based on your weapons and equipment – to offer flexibility when you need it most.
