Summary
Broken Steel and Point Lookout. If you're a Fallout 3 fan then those two names will surely bring a smile to your face and a twitch to your thumb or mouse-finger. They are very nearly the last two slices of DLC for the acclaimed game.
Broken Steel sees you joing up with the Brotherhood of Steel as you seek to clear the Capital Wasteland of what remains of the Enclave. It's not a simple mop-up operation though. It also enables you to level up to 30. Now, this is more useful than just boasting points. You can't start Broken Steel until you've finished the main game, so the fact is that on installation of the Broken Steel, the ability to level up appears, giving you the needed power to crack the main game and move on.
Be prepared for side missions, new buildings and encounters and... new enemies such as Albino Radscorpions, Feral Ghoul Reavers, Super Mutant Overlords, and Enclave Hellfire Troopers.
Point Lookout, well, Point Lookout is a big, big place based on a real-life park of the same name. Even cooler still is the fact that you don't have to have finished the main game to begin playing the add-on. Exit Vault 101 and wait for the 'The Local Flavor' mission to become available and off you go to Point Lookout. As you'd expect there are new encounters, new enemies but there is also a new feel to this add-on. Rather than having fixed missions, this is more of a free-form outing which includes ancient (200 year old) trips to destroy nuclear subs, and dealing with besuited spooks. While it's part of Fallout 3 and will enable you to use the experience and weaponry you've gained, it is almost a game in itself.
