Summary
Race On comes from car racing specialist Swedish development team SimBin Studios. The team put together racers GT Legends and Race and earned them their place in the hearts of racing sim fans.
For this PC outing, SimBin has taken cars and tracks from the World Touring Car Championship and bound them up into a slice of fast and skilful muscle-car madness. Not only that but you also get STCC (The Swedish Touring Car Championship) cars and tracks thrown into the mix. There's also Race 07 included in the bundle for a monumental load of racing action.
Nine car models in 17 classes and more than 450 variations will compete over a total of 30 tracks – five of which are brand new. There are also 17 alternate layouts. These include Laguna Seca, Sturup, Karlskoga, Okayama and Road America.
The game is also designed to integrate with GTR Evolution, bringing the new vehicles and tracks to owners of that classic car racer.
In terms of driving, there's a custom-designed physics engine to enable driving so fast and accurate that the developers promise a “huge grin on our face”. This is complemented by a dynamic weather system that will throw variations in conditions that will tax the most hard-core of drivers.
