Summary
Being a pirate must be great fun. No, not one of those DVD-copying 'Knockoff Nigels', we mean the bottle of rum and pieces of eight kind. Sailing the seven seas, looking for treasure – it's easy to romanticise it. Conversely, being a ghost can't be any kind of fun at all.
So imagine the emotional crossroads the three protagonists of Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island must be going through! The awesomeness of a pirate, with the curse that goes with being a ghost. In this adventure game you follow the journey of Papa Doc Mystere, Ham Rackham and Jane Starling, ghost pirates who are looking for a a chance to get back into their living bodies.
Taking place on the Azurbbean – a location that is very reminiscent of the 1600s Caribbean – the trio must work together to find a solution to their out-of-body experience. Gorgeous hand-painted locations detail a sub-tropical hand-painted paradise inhabited by other ghostly pirates, and zombies of all things.
As ghosts, it makes playing an adventure game quite difficult – Mystere, Rackham and Starling can't move physical objects, can't have a conversation with living humans and will struggle at the conventional activities that you'd expect to perform in this genre. So you have to think outside of the box here and use your spiritual existence to your advantage.
