Summary
Following the trend of user generated content (that's Game 3.0 if you fancy), ModNation Racers presents players with a cool and wacky kart racer, whilst offering the ability to create almost any aspect of gameplay that their heart desires.
That's right, you can go racing around the tracks on the disc, but the real meat of this game is to experience courses, characters and vehicles designed by other players across the PlayStation Network. When you start, you'll be encouraged to create your own 'Mod' character, using a collection of facial features, clothing and stickers. Do the same to your ride, and then get on the course to play with others online.
Power-ups and racing itself is as you would expect from any form of mascot kart racer – crazy jumps, drift boosts, rockets and environmental obstacles (sheep!) are just a taste of what you can expect mid-game. But if you want to give your friends a real challenge, the Track Studio allows you to set all of these parameters up yourself on a design on your choosing. And it couldn't be easier – lay the tarmac down with a paint roller, level the terrain and pop all sorts of objects on the track.
Ad-hoc and online multiplayer matches galore await you too, and with leaderboards aplenty you can be sure there's enough material here to sink your cartoony teeth into. Let the race begin!
