Summary

There's no better way to settle a samurai dispute than a quick, sharp sword to the stomach. SNK knows this more than anyone, with its legendary Samurai Shodown series a cult hit with Neo Geo fans of old. Now the fighting series takes on the Xbox 360, arcade perfect and everything. We miss the days when everything was supposedly 'arcade perfect'.

Samurai Shodown Sen's story revolves around a former European princess-turned samurai named Suzu. A decade after she is adopted by the Amori Clan, she rescues a master of martial arts named Takechiyo, who is stranded by an attack on his ship. Their chance meeting doesn't last as Suzu mysteriously disappears, leaving Takechiyo to find and rescue her.

Of course, what you really want to know is the finer details. Twenty fighters are at your disposal in Samurai Shodown Sen, including old favourites Haohmaru, Kibagami, Nakoruru and Ukyo – each with their own backstory and reasons for getting involved. Whoever you pick, there's a different fighting style that ties in with each character's unique weapon.

Power Slashes return to let you deal massive vertical and horizontal slash damage, while other elements such as Rage Explosion and Guard Shatter allow for increases in attack and removing opponent's shields respectively.
