Summary

Electronic Arts has a pretty good track record for creating an authentic experience with each iteration of sports game it creates. NBA Elite focuses on the world of basketball, and this new edition introduces several new features and improvements that help make the experience even better than before.

First off is the new “hands-on control” scheme that allows for more responsiveness to user input. Instead of predetermined animations that forced users to wait until a scenario was played out before making another move, this new scheme brings one-to-one responsiveness of a player’s movement. This extra step has been applied to all elements of player animation, from the dribbling to slam dunks, drives to the basket, fadeaways, mid-air adjustments, blocks, steals and everything inbetween.

As you can expect the graphical fidelity in NBA Elite 11 has been vastly improved, with even more detail on the action as you play. Alongside this, a new real-time physics system has been implemented, allowing each player to move independently of one another - meaning that you’re no longer restricted to two-man plays and can use the full potential of your basketball team. Your position on the court also has an impact on the new skill-based shooting system, which dynamically calculates your chances of scoring as opposed to traditional randomly-generated dice-roll mechanics.
