Summary

It's nice to be able to hit the Tennis court every now and then and serve some aces. But in recent years, it's become clear that it's just as much fun to spend your time on a virtual court, using motion controllers to get that record-breaking rally going. Racket Sports takes advantage of the new PlayStation Move by offering PlayStation 3 owners their very own virtual tennis arena.

But no one can be happy with just Tennis in this day and age? It's 2010, for goodness sake! Well, Ubisoft and developer Asobo feel exactly the same way – which is why you get four other racquet sports packed into the game too. Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Beach Tennis are all included alongside the vanilla Tennis mode, offering a lot of different gameplay styles and modes to stay competitive.

With the PlayStation Move and PlayStation Eye combination, you don't need to worry about having your actions translate into virtual movement however – the accuracy and sensitivity of the peripherals are enough to make the game feel completely natural. But if things get a bit too much, you can of course opt to adjust the settings somewhat to make it easier for newcomers to get to grips with the action.

That doesn't mean this is a dumbed down sports compilation though, as expert gameplay options allow players to add as much or as little spin, power and speed to their shots as they like. Use the buttons on the Move to trigger tactical actions too. With 30 different environments to play in, 11 avatars to choose from and a tonne of customisation options to boot, Racket Sports is the game for serious racquet aficionados.
