Summary

Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman. If any character names come to mind for a non-comics-fan when you say 'DC Comics', it's those three. Well, DC and Warner Brothers' plan is for that to no longer be the case by the time Summer 2011 is up. Green Lantern's star is on the rise, with a Great Big Summer Movie in the offing and a game to go with it.

While the game is set in the movie's universe, it tells its own story. So, you still get the Ryan Reynolds version of Green Lantern, in all his painted-on-costume glory, but you get an original story. This centres around the Manhunters. You see, the Green Lanterns are an intergalactic police force, charged by the Guardians of the Universe with using the green force of willpower to keep the peace, helped out by a ring that can construct pretty much anything out of light. You and your brothers in arms were not the first given that task, however. Before you were the robotic Manhunters, and now they're back and looking less peaceful than they might.

The game alternates between hack 'n' slash gameplay and arcade-style flight sections. On the ground, you'll use your ring and 12 unique ring constructs to battle the Manhunters. You'll be able to take it a step further, too, by enlisting a mate to play as Sinestro.

In the air, you'll blast along as you would in an arcade jet fighter game of old, taking down foes with shots from your ring.

You don't want to leave Ryan Reynolds to save the universe on his own, do you?
