Summary

After re-capturing our hearts in episodic form back in 2009, Guybrush Threepwood comes back to home computers in a special edition disc format - Tales of Monkey Island. The five-chapter tale marked the first time we had seen Threepwood in almost a decade, but time hasn't destroyed the franchise - the engaging mix of puzzle, action and witty role-playing dialogue is present and correct.

Guybrush is in trouble though. With the entire Carribean, in fact, after he inadvertently infects the entire region's population with evil voodoo magic that transforms handsome buccaneers into unruly pirate monsters! It's all because of a fight between our hero and the nasty pirate LeChuck - when Threepwood broke off his arch-enemy's demonic charm it leaked voodoo all over the place. Erm, whoops.

Guybrush didn't get away from the fight unscathed either - he's only gone and cursed his hand as well. His only hope for saving the Caribbean is to find the La Esponja Grande - a mysterious super-sponge that is said to exfoliate any voodoo magic. But with pirates and physicians all wanting a piece of Threepwood, can he find and reach his destination in time? And will he find the truth he seeks once he gets there? All is not what it seems...
